A large flour processor installed Chain-Vey tubular drag conveyors inside their process system for their reliability, ease of product changeover, and product non-sifting capability. “Plant managers wanted to further automate the cleaning of their turnarounds. Usually the turnarounds are the lowest-placed component of a system, and over time a little bit of flour tended find its way to the bottom of a given conveyor,” states Carlos Castillo, Sales Engineer.
“We came back to the customer with a turnaround with all the features of our turnaround design, such as tool-less entry for easy access, U-track for further reducing product carryover, pneumatic tensioning; but now we added both compressed air nozzles at the top of the turnaround and a dust collection vacuum port on the bottom of the turnaround,” adds Castillo.
