Sanitary Conveying Solution

MPE engineers designed Chain-Vey to be a sanitary conveying solution for a wide range of applications.

The Chain-Vey product team believes Chain-Vey should conform to the requirements of each customer’s applications; instead of expecting the customer’s application to be suitable for a single catch-all design. Each industry has varying requirements and concerns, ranging from bacteria concerns, to flavoring, allergens, etc. In order to achieve a customizable tubular drag conveyor that fits within a given customer’s sanitary requirements, Chain-Vey’s CIP (Clean-In-Place) options are first divided into three tiers that offer varying options and different approaches to cleaning:

  • Tier 1
    • Complete cleaning of dry applications without the use of any liquid(s) or solvents. This can be important for process systems not suitable for exposure to water. Preventing cross-contamination is paramount. Tier 1 offers full conveyor clean-out without residual product.
  • Tier 2
    • A hybrid approach utilizing customer-specific cleaning protocols. This may include liquid and solvent cleaning where the conveyor is exposed to water or sanitizing agents. Special discharges, discs, turnarounds and other components ideal for sanitation-sensitive applications fall into Tier 2.
  • Tier 3
    • Tier 3 offers custom-engineered sanitary solutions for the most demanding applications. Tier 3 is the apex of fully-automated CIP design, which includes the MPE CIP cleaning cart. Do not mistake this tier as only for wet applications. It is also suitable for dry applications as well. Notably, Tier 3 encompasses a higher level of cleaning automation.

After deciding which tier your conveyor falls into, design elements and specifications can be tested and validated in our Chain-Vey testing lab. Subsequent to this, approval drawings are made and production begins on a perfectly ideal CIP tubular drag conveyor for your needs.

“We made the switch to a flanged, full wet-wash Chain-Vey and it delivered on what we needed.”
